TONY Rea has confirmed that Craig Gower will again be captaining the London Broncos in 2013.

“At the conclusion of the pre-season camp in France I sat down with Craig at the airport in Toulouse and formerly offered him the captaincy for the 2013,” explained Rea. “It was pleasing that Craig accepted the offer.”

“Craig’s actions and connection with the players around the club environment convinced me that he is their leader.

“We felt out of respect to the position and Craig, it was important to be clear that the leadership is not an entitlement but rather is something that is earned. Craig’s deeds earned him this honour.

“Craig looks forward to working with everyone involved with the club to ensure we are all achieving our best and are operating in a challenging and inspiring environment.”

Gower, 34, originally signed a two year deal and made 28 appearances for the club in 2012 comprising of 26 Super League games and two Challenge Cup games. He recently signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until the end of 2014.

The Broncos first game of the Super League season is a home game against Widnes Vikings this Sunday 3 February at the Twickenham Stoop, kick-off 3:00pm.

Match tickets for the game can be purchased on the day from the ticket office at gate 3, matchday prices: Adults £20, OAP/Student (Concession) £12 and Juniors £5.
